Hancock County Assessor

Job Overview

  • The County Assessor is an elected full-time position

  • Offices are located in the Hancock County Annex and regular office hours are Monday through Friday from 8am until 4pm

  • Fixed term of four years

Job Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen 18 years of age or older at the time of assuming office

  • Must have resided in the county for at least one (1) year before election and remain a current resident and real property owner within Hancock County

  • Must complete Assessor Level II to III Certification and maintain continuing education requirements

    • If the candidate has never before been an elected Assessor, they MUST have their Level II Assessor/Appraiser Certification before taking office

    • Candidates MUST have their Level III Assessor Appraiser Certification if they choose to run for a second term
